  • During your first appointment you will have time to discuss your condition with Dr. Kosters. At the completion of your initial exam, Dr. Kosters will go through his report of findings.

In the slim chance Dr. Kosters determines your condition warrants a deeper look, he will refer you for further testing or imaging. However, most individuals will not need further testing such as an x-ray or MRI and will receive treatment the first day.

  • Your treatment plan will be tailored to your specific condition and goals. Treatment plans vary from person to person and generally last 4-8 visits, 2-3 visits per week for approximately 2-3 weeks. More severe conditions can expect treatment plans of up to 12 visits or more.

The hands-on nature of chiropractic treatment is what requires patients to be seen a number of times. Much like it takes repetition to make the kind of changes we want in our bodies using things like diet and exercise, chiropractic care makes progressive changes where one treatment builds on the last.

At the conclusion of your treatment plan you will be released from active care. At that time you may choose to be seen on a wellness basis or return on a treatment plan if you experience pain or discomfort from injury or illness.

  • Many people choose to visit the chiropractor on a wellness or preventative basis. A wellness visit is designed to keep you pain free and able to participate in the activities you enjoy without adhering to a specific treatment plan. Unfortunately, most health insurances do not cover this type of care. For this reason, we have affordable wellness rates.

  • Dr. Kosters will generally give you instructions on how to continue improving your condition at home. You will likely be prescribed stretches and/or exercises during your treatment plan. Dr. Kosters will demonstrate these during your appointment, and you will be sent home with ‘homework’.

  • A growing number of patients see the benefit of receiving a massage in conjunction with their chiropractic appointment. In most cases we suggest the massage is prior to your chiropractic appointment.

  • Dr. Kosters is primarily a hands-on adjuster using mostly diversified adjustments as well as drop piece adjustments. However, Dr. Kosters does perform some activator adjustments as well if the condition calls for it or if that is the patient’s preference.
